On April 3rd, Good Neighbor Healthcare Center celebrated over forty years of service to the community at its annual spring luncheon, "Come Hungry, Leave Fulfilled" at The River Oaks Country Club. Both Janet Donath, Executive Director, and Chairman of the Board Rolf Maurer shared a few thoughts on the importance of community healthcare, and the positive impact that Good Neighbor has had for thousands of families in Houston for the past forty years.

It was a beautiful day in April as Good Neighbor Healthcare Center held its annual Bicycle Safety Helmet Day for the patients of the clinic. A record number of 94 children attended the event and received helmets.

All of us at Good Neighbor Healthcare Center are pleased to welcome Dr. Pauline AhamNeze as our Chief Medical Officer. A 1994 graduate of Dartmouth Medical School, Dr. AhamNeze took her Residency in Family Medicine at Brown University in Rhode Island.

We are so excited to welcome new second-graders to Good Neighbor Healthcare Center! Project Saving Smiles provides free dental screening, dental sealants, fluoride varnish, and oral health education to area second-grade students enrolled in the Free or Reduced Lunch Program. Working in conjunction with the City of Houston as well as many other agencies, Good Neighbor has donated its dental facilities and staff for each Project Saving Smile mission since the fall of 2008. Already, Good Neighbor has seen over 8,000 second graders through this incredible educational program.
